In a largely-Catholic country like the Philippines, it is vital for these faith-based actors to walk the talk on climate action – from archdioceses and dioceses to congregations and ministries. These involves ensuring that where their funds are invested and how their finances are sourced are also aligned with financial flows and development pathways that are aligned with enhancing climate and ecologically-sustainable solutions and do not cause harm to communities and ecosystems.
This interactive dashboard presents whether the Philippine Catholic groups have responded to this challenge, through divestment [or lack thereof] of their finances [in the form of shares] from major companies known to be directly involved or indirectly enabling fossil fuel and mining activities in the country. As they say, numbers don’t lie.
